RedI remember my mother kneeling on the ground in front of a pillar of red. She looked like a pilgrim. My front yard was covered in water, neighbors, grass and my mother. My father stood in the driveway. He looked much worse. At least my mother still had life in her eyes. She looked human. She looked crushed, but still human. My dad didn't. He couldn't believe what had happened, and in his disbelief, he had checked out. He was gone. He wasn't there anymore.Red
I don't remember what I looked like. If I was standing or kneeling or what. I just don't know.
The firefighters kept going in and coming out.
